Lou Reed: “The first Velvet Underground album only sold 1,000 copies, but every person that bought it started a band.”

Following on from my previous post about Giving Content Away for Free, Lou seemed to be comfortable with the altruistic vision of goods for the betterment of all.

He came across as a cranky bastard, his links to Andy Warhol make him irresistible. “Transformer” was an influential album. “Satellite of Love” still gets hummed from time to time. I’m a scratchy guitar player but occasionally I can get “Perfect Day” to be almost acceptable. and “Walk on the Wild Side” –  timeless. R.I.P.Image
